What is your birthdate???

I headed out this morning to make a Home Depot run. Needed a few things for my renovation project and Mare asked me to pick up some spray paint for a project she is working on.

At the checkout, the clerk asked me for my date of birth. I gave her a look that she immediately realized needed an explanation for this request. She held up one can of spray paint, color "Candy Pink", and began to explain that some paint, depending upon the color cannot be sold to anyone under 18. The Candy Pink paint set off the date of birth request.

(So this means minors are stuck sniffing boring colors of black and white?)

I replied that it must be ok to sniff paint if you are over 18. She laughed and said it was sort of wierd having to ask this information when it was obvious I was over 18. (I have recovered from that comment).

Stores require even more information if you try to buy cold medication. You know the ones that really help with a cold. They take your ID and enter all the information into their computer. Ridiculous!!!
