Just when I was beginning to enjoy jumping out of bed to daylight, the powers that be in the good ole US of A decide to mess with the dates, and move one hour of daylight from the morning to the evening, even earlier this year. WHY?
Time for a History lesson.
In 1784, Ben Franklin, at the age of 78, in a moment of whimsey, Benjamin Franklin wrote An Economical Project, a discourse on the thrift of natural versus artificial lighting. He included several funny regulations that Paris might adopt to help. Over two centuries later, nations around the world use a variation of his concept to conserve energy and more fully enjoy the benefits of daylight.
Energy Savings?
Some argue that the energy savings touted by DST is offset by the energy used by those living in warm climates to cool their homes during summer afternoons and evenings. Similarly, the argument can be made that more evening hours of light encourage people to run errands and visit friends, thus consuming more gasoline
Benefits of daylight?
I, like most I suppose, do like the lighter evenings, but was certainly content with the old schedule.
Plea:
Move my daylight back!

I am impressed with your first post! Very imformative!
However, I must disagree with your conclusion. I usually start work around 1, and thus I work later in the evenings, so for me, it's nice to have the daylight when I'm done. YAY! :)
Way to much information!
Makes my head hurt!
By the way I am Pro-Global Warming!
